All Year Long

Let's sit close to the fire and warm our toes,
With cups of hot chocolate in our hands so cold.

A season of fun has come our way,
Let's pray the good cheer is here to stay.

There's love all around it permeates the air,
Tis the season so many display how they care.

With shopping and trimmings of tinsel and glitter,
The excitment of presents make little hearts quiver.

Lights in the night for a brief time each year,
Bring thoughts of a star that shone bright and clear.

Once silent voices now shout and sing,
"It's time for the birhtday of our King!"

And while we snuggle all safe and warm,
We know He's with us even through life's storms.

But I wish all hearts would rejoice and sing
All through the year for our newborn King!

"Oh, why were you silent?" He'll ask you one day.
I came to earth your debt to pay.

Why did you not tell more of my birth?
One day a year is that all I'm worth?

So give Christ's gift that whole year through,
Tell of His love and what He's done for you.

Don't let your light flicker, may it burn bright and strong.
Then the spirit of Christmas will last all year long.
